Expertise Driving Measurable Outcomes

Growth Strategy in practice since 1983
Michael J. Quattro, Founder
Mike Quattro was three-quarters of the way to a PhD — with dual Master's degrees in Biology and Chemistry already behind him — when he stepped away from his post as an assistant professor at Rhode Island College and into pharmaceutical sales. It wasn't a plan so much as a necessity: as a young Italian-American supporting himself on a teacher's salary, Mike had already been working two additional jobs in sales and business development just to make ends meet. That side hustle became the turning point. It showed him how directly his training as a scientist and teacher could translate into an entirely different industry.
As the son of Italian-American factory workers, Mike was the first in his family to finish high school, and a first generation college student; and accessibility to expertise was essential. Mike’s upbringing gave him something no classroom could: a relentless drive to learn, and an equal drive to make what he learned accessible to everyone else. Over his years as a chemistry professor and later director of pharmaceutical sales, he sharpened a rare skill — explaining complex science in plain, precise language, in whatever way would make it land for whoever was listening. Physicians noticed. Mike became one of the most sought-after leaders at his respective organization(s), not because he oversimplified science, but because he refused to. He in turn was able to educate his colleagues on why in biotech and pharmaceutical work you cannot have sales without science.
This reputation opened doors. He led product launches for Cetaphil and Lubriderm at Galderma, and later brought Betaseron to multiple sclerosis patients at Berlex Laboratories (now owned by Bayer) — work that put him closest to the outcome he cared about most: watching scientific discovery actually change patients' lives. It is this work of creating accessibility and addressing need that eventually led him to found Quattro & Associates, LLC., which began as a small circle of trusted colleagues and has since grown into a broader community-impact organization — diversifying across companies, foundations, and nonprofits the group now supports. Mike's goal for this phase of his career is to hand down what decades inside the industry's biggest companies taught him to the people, causes, and organizations building what comes next.
